Meet The PATH Award Winners: Hollie O’Toole and Marla Decker

Hollie O’Toole, MA

Hollie, Medical Assistant at District Health, enjoys working with the close-knit team at the clinic and has loved getting to know the patients and their families. Outside of work, she is happiest when spending time with her two kids, Emma and Rory, doing DIY home projects, baking, and reading. Hollie also teaches dance classes and coaches competitive dance teams, as dancing is her favorite way to exercise.

Marla Decker, DNP, APRN, NP-C, PMHNP-BC

Marla has been a provider at NeoPath-Prairie Island Health Center for 6 years and in nursing for 14 years. She completed her undergraduate degree from St. Scholastica. She has worked in a variety of settings as a RN including inpatient pediatrics, mom-baby, neonatology clinic, and urgent care. She completed her family nurse practitioner training through Creighton University and after starting work as a provider with Neopath saw a need for additional mental health training. She completed an additional certification in Psychiatric Mental Health through Creighton University and now enjoys using both degrees to treat her patients from a whole-person view. Establishing relationships with patients and educating them about their conditions and possible treatment options are the favorite parts of her position. Marla has also taught nursing clinicals and continues to enjoy teaching and training new staff and colleagues. In her free time Marla enjoys time with family, spending time outside and most DIY projects.
