R. Edward Bergmark, Ph.D.
R. Edward Bergmark, Ph.D. is founder and retired chief executive officer of OptumĀ®/UnitedHealth Group Inc. OptumĀ® was founded in 1990 and today offers health information and personal care management services through its 24-hour NurseLine and assistance programs, publications, audio library, and Health Forums, an interactive, personalized health information service accessible via the Internet. Bergmark has over 30 years of experience in the areas of behavioral health, employee assistance and managed care. He received his master's degree in psychology from the University of St. Thomas and holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Minnesota. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees, Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Ronald B. Colby
Ronald B. Colby is the retired chief executive officer of Specialized Care Services, a unit of UnitedHealth Group. Colby joined United HealthCare in 1990 as president and chief executive officer of United Health and Life Insurance Company. He subsequently served as the chief executive officer of Insurance Services, a United HealthCare business segment that provides the company's functional insurance requirements. Before joining United HealthCare, Colby was vice president and director of group pricing and compliance at Lincoln National Life Insurance Company. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Randall S. Moore M.D. MBA
Randall S. Moore, MD, MBA is currently CEO of American Telecare, a telemedicine-enabled services company partnering with leading health systems to reengineer consumer centric care systems. He has spent more than 25 years working as both a physician and an executive in the medical industry, with a focus on system level change, integrating advanced business and clinical models.
Prior to American Telecare, Moore managed his own consulting firm helping clients such as Pfizer, The Zitter Group, Novartis and Protocare Sciences with new business development, disease management, managed care application and board management. He also was a senior vice president of Integrated Medical Development for MedPartners; and served as Caremark International’s Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. His responsibilities included clinical research, medical informatics, disease management, clinical reengineering, and new business development. Dr. Moore's work has included medical writing, numerous presentations at medical and scientific meetings, and board development and membership, including serving on the board of an 800,000 member health plan.
Moore graduated with AOA honors from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, before completing his training in internal medicine at the University of Medicine, where he served on the faculty for 9 years. His education also includes study at the University of London, and earning his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Sara Ratner
Sara Ratner currently serves as Prime Therapeutics' Chief Compliance Officer and is primarily responsible for corporate compliance. Previously she served as Senior Legal Counsel, Vice President of Human Resources and Strategic Relations for MinuteClinic, a division of CVS Caremark.
Prior to her work at Minute Clinic, she served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Fiserv Health where she also chaired the company's political action committee. Prior to Fiserv Health, Ms. Ratner was an associate in the health law practice at Minneapolis-based law firm, Leonard Street and Deinard, where she worked with multi-state health plans and provider organizations.
Ms. Ratner has published a number of health care articles in various journals. In 2007, she was appointed to serve on the National Governors Association Health Care Task Force, as well as participate in the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation and the Healthcare Leadership Trust. Ms. Ratner also participates as an appointed member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Health Law Section Governing Council, a Board Member for the YMCA Minneapolis, a Board Member for SuperSibs! and is the chair of the Minnesota Children's Museum Leadership Council.
Ms. Ratner received her Bachelor's of Arts, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis and her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, with a concentration in health law from St. Louis University.
